Hurricanes hit Haiti

October 2008: A succession of hurricanes have swept across Haiti, killing 326 people and destroying more than 10,000 buildings.

Plan has distributed 9,000 school kits in Jacmel, south east Haiti, as part of its emergency efforts.

The kits will help children to continue their education by providing basic materials including pens, books and rulers.

Plan will continue to provide emergency relief to communities and support efforts to provide psychotherapy to children traumatised by the disaster.
