Welcome to Plan Philippines

Like many of the countries Plan works in, there is a discrepancy in access to basic services between urban and rural populations in the Philippines.

With a literacy rate of about 94%, it has one of the highest literacy rates among developing countries. However, there is still a high drop out rate, particularly in the rural areas. 93 per cent of urban dwellers have access to sanitation, while only 69 per cent of their rural counterparts can say the same.

Plan works with children and their families to ensure access to essential services such as sanitation facilities, basic education and health care.
